  CAVELL STRING QUARTET
  Formed at the Royal College of Music in January 2006, the Cavell Quartet, previously the Delphinia Quartet, was awarded the Helen Just and Susan Connell Prize for Chamber Music in 2007. They are regularly tutored by the Chilingirian and Wihan Quartets, and have received coaching from members of the Brodsky, Keller, Takacs, Revolutionary and Vermeer Quartets.

Performances throughout the UK include notable venues such as the Wigmore Hall and King's Place, as well as Kettle's Yard Cambridge; St. Mary Abbott's Kensington and the Royal College of Music. The Cavell Quartet have also performed abroad in Trondheim and the Loire Valley, France.

Sophie Lockett (Violin I) leads the Cavell Quartet, which she co-founded in 2006. As well as leading the York Young Soloists Chamber Orchestra and giving workshops throughout the country with the Philharmonia's Elastic Band, Sophie has performed in concert and on television with McFly, Lemar and John Barrowman. Sophie was a Foundation Scholar at the Royal College of Music where she studied with Yossi Zivoni, previously attending the Purcell School where she studied with Erik Houston. Sophie has played with the London Symphony Orchestra and appears regularly with the London Chamber Orchestra, most recently touring and recording with the cellist Han-na Chang. Sophie teaches violin and chamber music at Ealing Junior Music School and at Thomas's London Day School, Clapham. Sophie plays on a Camillus Camilli violin, loaned to her by Benslow Music Trust.

Charis Jenson (Violin II) is currently in her fourth year as an Associated Board Scholar at the Royal College of Music, studying with Yossi Zivoni. She is also a founder member of the Cavell Quartet. Since co-leading the National Youth Orchestra, she plays regularly with orchestras in London and the South West, and she recently led the RCM Opera Orchestra under Michael Rosewell in performances of Mozarts La Finta Giardiniera. As well as solo performances in London and Bristol, she has had master classes with musicians including Michael Davies and the late Hugh Bean. Charis is a guest coach with Novacorda and is involved in outreach projects. She has recently been awarded a scholarship to continue her studies as a postgraduate at the RCM next year.

Bryony Mycroft (Viola) is currently in her final year of the undergraduate programme at the Royal College of Music studying viola with Jonathan Barritt and voice with Kathleen Livingstone. As a soloist she has performed in masterclasses with Garfield Jackson and Lawrence Power, and as a member of the Cavell Quartet received coaching from members of the Brodsky, Chilingirian, Takacs and Wihan Quartets. Bryony performs regularly with the Philharmonia 'Elastic Band' and also with Southbank Sinfonia. Bryony has been awarded a scholarship to continue her studies at the Royal College of Music next year at postgraduate level.

Jonathan Rees (Cello) currently holds a scholarship as a post-graduate student at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studies with Mats Lidstrom. He regularly performs as a soloist, particularly in his home town Bristol and in Cambridge, where he studied French and German, graduating in June 2008 with a I*. Whilst at University he held a Cambridge University instrumental award. In his first term at the Academy he was principal cellist of the Academy Symphony Orchestra and the Manson Ensemble and performed in the Queen Elizabeth Hall with the London Sinfonietta. He is principal cellist in the Orion Symphony orchestra, which recently performed in St John's, Smith Square and the Royal Festival Hall. He was previously principal cellist in the National Youth Orchestra. He also enjoys playing baroque cello and owns an electric cello.
